Menurut Professor Awang Bulgiba Awang Mahmud dalam temu bual dengan Astro Awani, beliau berkata saringan asas dengan mengambil suhu badan sahaja bukan kaedah terbaik. Saringan yang patut dijalankan adalah mengambil sampel menggunakan kaedah swab di kerongkong, hidung dan pemeriksaan darah. Beliau juga menegaskan bahawa, langkah mengkuarantin mereka di satu lokasi khas selama 14 hari sebelum dibenarkan pulang ke rumah juga penting.
