Dr Marzuki Isahak Appointed Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya

The Department of Social and Preventive Medicine is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Marzuki Isahak as an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya. This appointment recognises his extensive contributions to occupational and public health, as well as his longstanding association with the University.

Dr Marzuki brings over two decades of experience in public health and occupational medicine, currently serving as Principal (Occupational Health) and Health Advisor at PETRONAS. In this capacity, he provides strategic health advisory within Malaysia’s oil and gas sector, a role that aligns closely with the Faculty’s commitment to advancing industry-relevant public health practice.

Academically, Dr Marzuki is well known to the Universiti Malaya community, having previously served as an Associate Professor in Occupational and Environmental Health discipline, and as Head of Department of Public Health and the Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Unit at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre. His scholarly contributions include more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and numerous presentations at international conferences, reflecting a sustained commitment to research excellence and knowledge translation.

In addition to his academic and professional roles, Dr Marzuki is an active leader in the occupational health community. He is a Council Member and Fellow of the Academy of Occupational and Environmental Medicine Malaysia, contributing to national capacity building and professional development in this critical field.

The Department warmly welcomes Dr Marzuki’s appointment and looks forward to his contributions, particularly in strengthening collaboration between academia and industry.
