The department would like to congratulate Dr Vanithan Krishnan on the successful completion of her Doctor of Public Health viva voce. Her thesis looks at anaemia and its associated factors, including nutritional status and lifestyle factors among adolescents in Malaysia. The study consists of two parts the quantitative analysis of the data from the MyHeart Study and the in-depth interview of implementers. She was supervised by Associate Professor Hazreen Abdul Majid and Associate Professor Rafdzah Ahmad Zaki from the Department, and Professor Dr Muhammad Yazid Jalaludin from the Department of Paediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya. Her external examiner was Professor Dr Gita Mishra from the University of Queensland, Australia and the internal examiner was Professor Dr Tan Phoay Lay from the Department of Primary Care Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya.
