The department would like to congratulate Dr Thaneswaran Marthammuthun on the successful completion of his Doctor of Public Health viva voce. His thesis looks at the association between social support and physical activity among older women from Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan. The study consists of two parts the quantitative analysis of the data from the PEACE Study and the in-depth interview of participants to assess their view on social support and physical activities. He was supervised by Associate Professor Dr Choo Wan Yuen, Assoc. Prof. Dr Farizah Mohd Hairi and Dr Nur Afiqah Mohd Salleh from the Department. His external examiner was Professor Dr Christopher Bullen from the University of Auckland, New Zealand and the internal examiner was Associate Professor Dr Hazreen Abd Majid.
