The Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) together with the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health and Astro Malaysia organised the occupational safety and health short video competition. There were three categories of entry for the short video competition, i.e., private sector, governmental sector and institute of higher learning. Anyone can submit a two-minute video to participate in the competition. This is the third year the competition has been running.
This year DOSH received more than 100 entries for the three categories. The professional juries from the video competition consisted of a representative from Malaysian Society of Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH), Social Security Organisation (SOCSO), Malaysian Industrial Hygiene Association (MIHA), Academy of Occupational and Environmental Medicine Malaysia (AOEMM), Astro Malaysia, and DOSH.
The process of judging and deciding the three top winners for each category was a long drawn process. Firstly, we need to screen all the videos to ensure that they follow the criteria for entry, i.e., a short video of not more than 2 minutes and they follow the theme. Then the qualified videos were screen again to all the juries for independent blinded assessment. Finally, at 5 pm, we were able to complete the task and identified 9 videos which will be posted on the DOSH YouTube channel for the public to pick the winners.
