PhD Opportunity: Migrant Health Equity

The Consortium for Migrant Worker Health, under the Centre for Epidemiology and Evidence-Based Practice (CEBP), Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya, invites applications from highly motivated and diligent candidates for a fully funded PhD position.

This opportunity is offered under the research project:

Migrant Health Equity: Transforming Health Interventions for Migrant Workers

The project focuses on:

Advancing migrant-inclusive health measurement.
Generating evidence on the health impacts of labour conditions.
Developing scalable interventions to improve health equity among migrant workers.

Programme Details

Location: Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur
Employment Status: Full-time (3 years)

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Master’s degree in Public Health, Public Policy, or a related health field (CGPA ≥ 3.5).
Malaysian citizen.
Fluent in English and Malay (written and spoken).
Eligible and willing to enrol as a full-time PhD student at the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya.
Strong academic writing and communication skills in English.
Experience in qualitative and/or quantitative research.
Prior experience working with migrant communities is an advantage.
