This year, we joyfully gathered once again for the much-anticipated SPM Department’s Family Day. The programme was held on Saturday, 9th September 2023, we marked its return with great enthusiasm. Our chosen venue was the IWK Eco Park at Pantai Dalam, Kuala Lumpur.
The day kicked off early as the organising committee arrived and diligently set up for the event. Guests began arriving at 8.00 am, and a delightful breakfast was distributed to get everyone energised for the exciting day ahead.
The day commenced with a prayer recital at 8.45 am, followed by a warm welcome from our emcees. The morning took a nostalgic turn as we enjoyed a montage video play, reflecting on past programmes and activities by our staff and students.
Associate Professor Dr Nik Daliana Nik Farid, our Acting Head of Department, gave her opening remarks and officiated the event at 9.10 am. It was The momentous occasion sealed with a group photo at 9.30 am.
The beats got lively with a Zumba session at 9.45 am, infusing the atmosphere with energy and rhythm. Next up were the thrilling games; a Treasure Hunt that challenged participants’ fitness and wit.
The highlight of physical strength and teamwork came with the Tug of War at 11.00 am. Cheers and applause filled the air as teams gave their all in this classic showdown. The outdoor activities ended, and all participants then continued indoor; a musical chair game for kids that filled the air with laughter.
By 11.30 am, appetites were calling, and we sat down for a delicious lunch. The karaoke session added a melodious touch to the gathering, with songs chosen by our very own attendees.
The anticipation was high as we moved to the Lucky Draws and Prize Giving Ceremony at noon. Exciting prizes awaited the lucky winners, making the day even more memorable. As the clock struck 1.30 pm, we wrapped up the day’s festivities, leaving us with cherished memories of togetherness, fun, and laughter.
We look forward to next year’s Family Day with renewed excitement and a commitment to fostering stronger bonds within our SPM Department family.
