Courtesy Visits from the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Sumatera Utara

The Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya welcomed a delegation from the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) on 30 November 2020, marking an important step towards strengthening regional academic collaboration.

The visiting delegation was led by Ida Yustina, accompanied by Etty Sudaryati, Nurmaini Khalik, and Fazidah Augslina. The visitors were hosted by Sanjay Rampal, Deputy Dean (Research), at the Dato’ Panglima Kinta Eusoff Research Centre.

The visit commenced with an introduction to the Faculty of Medicine by Professor Sanjay Rampal. This was followed by a presentation from Victor CW Hoe, Head of the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine (SPM), who outlined the department’s structure, academic programmes, and key areas of work. Rafdzah Ahmad Zaki, Head of the Centre for Epidemiology and Evidence-Based Practice, subsequently presented the centre’s activities and research focus.

In return, Professor Ida Yustina introduced the Faculty of Public Health, USU, providing insights into its academic programmes and institutional priorities.

The visit concluded with a constructive discussion on potential areas of collaboration between the two institutions, including research partnerships, academic exchange, and capacity-building initiatives in public health.
