CePH Workshop Report on R Workshop Series 1: Introduction to R, Data Management and Basic Statistics

The Centre for Population Health (CePH) has successfully hosted the R Workshop Series 1 on 20 and 21 June 2024. This hybrid workshop’s primary objective was to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of R. Two distinguished speakers led the workshop, Dr Kamarul and Dr Vivek Jason Jayaraj from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), known for their expertise in advanced R programming and statistical methodologies. Their combined knowledge and teaching styles provided a rich learning experience for all attendees.

Over the course of two days, the workshop covered essential topics such as the foundations of R programming, advanced data management techniques, and performing complex statistical analyses on real-world datasets. The event saw a diverse group of participants, including students, lecturers, and industry
professionals.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many participants expressing eagerness to apply their new skills in their respective fields. Building on the success of this inaugural workshop, CePH is excited to announce plans for a second workshop in the R programming series. This upcoming session will delve deeper into advanced topics and provide further opportunities for participants to enhance their R programming expertise.
