Vaccination has a very important role in nations wishing to exit the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet at the same time, limited vaccine supplies and the absence of an adult immunisation programme means that this will be the first time such a mass vaccination programme is being carried out among adults in Malaysia. The Independent COVID-19 Vaccination Advisory Committee (ICVAC) was formed and appointed by MOSTI to offer independent advice on the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme.
In this weekly Wednesday session of Breakfast@UMHealth, Datuk Prof Dr Awang Bulgiba Awang Mahmud, who is heading the ICVAC, spoke about what the committee had done in this regard. The session was moderated by Prof Dr Victor Hoe the Head of Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya.
