The Story Behind UMMC frontliners

This video explains the role of the Occupational Safety Health and Environmental (OSHE) Unit and the Public Health Department (PHD) in the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre in the COVID19 pandemic.

To ensure that our frontline healthcare workers are safe during the COVID19 pandemic, a system needs to be in place to identify and track exposed healthcare workers. The people in OSHE and PHD with the assistance of public health postgraduate students from the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, volunteers from other departments in UM and UMMC; e.g., Rehab, Medical Microbiology, Nursing, has developed a system for risk assessment, contact tracing, and surveillance. This has enabled UMMC to act in a timely manner to keep the number of COVID19 infections among HCW low.
