Dalam temu bual dengan BH Online, Pakar epidemiologi, Prof Datuk Dr Awang Bulgiba Awang Mahmud, berpendapat jumlah kes jangkitan COVID-19 yang belum menunjukkan penurunan ketara dan tahap pematuhan rakyat yang masih rendah menjadi faktor mengapa PKP perlu dilanjutkan. Katanya, pertambahan kawasan dikenakan PKPD dan zon merah juga menjadi petunjuk penting mengapa PKP perlu diteruskan untuk dua hingga enam minggu lagi. Pakar virologi, Prof Dr Sazaly Abu Bakar juga percaya kerajaan akan melanjutkan PKP sehingga hujung bulan ini atau pertengahan Mei, kerana rantaian jangkitan COVID-19 masih gagal diputuskan.
