Pada masa ini dengan tampa ubat specifik atau vaksin untuk penyakit COVID-19, Professor Datuk Dr Awang Bulgiba Awang Mahmud dalam sidang yang di kendalikan oleh Menteri Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi, Khari Jamaluddin, mengaskan penjarakkan sosial yang ditekankan Kementerian Kesihatan dan lanjutan Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP) dilihat sebagai satu-satunya cara mampu menyekat penularan virus terbabit. Katanya, langkah berkenaan memiliki rasional tersendiri dan logik yang perlu dipatuhi semua pihak dalam memastikan negara bebas daripada ancaman virus berbahaya ini.
