Newton-Ungku Omar Fund, Akademi Sains Malaysia (ASM) and the Center for Population Health (CePH), Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya have successfully organised a one-day symposium on adolescents’ health to postgraduate students, researchers, academicians, and healthcare professionals. The symposium was held on 27 February 2019 at the Theater Room, Azman Hashim Building, Faculty of Business and Accountancy, University of Malaya. Associate Professor Dr. Noor Hasnah Moin, Director of Research Grant Management Centre, University of Malaya helped us officiate the event. During the official ceremony, we also launched our Malaysian Health and Longitudinal Research Study (MyHeARTs) handbook (now available on UM Press website for purchase). A total of 91 participants joined the symposium. Main speakers for the symposium were Associate Professor Dr. Hazreen Abdul Majid and Dr. Laura Johnson, who are both principal investigators of the IF grants by Newton –Ungku Omar (Malaysia and UK).
