The Scientific Writing Workshop Series 2026 was successfully conducted over six sessions between 11 June and 5 August 2026, at the WHO TDR Regional Training Centre in Western Pacific Region (SPM Studio), Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya.
Recognising that scientific writing is one of the greatest challenges faced by postgraduate (PhD) students, the workshop aimed to equip participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to produce high-quality theses and publishable manuscripts.
The workshop consisted of six modules as below:

A learner-centred approach was adopted throughout the workshop series. The teaching methods included: Interactive lectures, Hands-on writing activities, Small group discussions, Peer-review exercises, Examples from scientific publications and Guided feedback from the facilitator.
The workshop has contributed to strengthening participants’ scientific writing competencies. It also fostered a supportive learning environment where participants were able to exchange ideas and learn from one another’s writing experiences. It is hoped that the knowledge and skills gained will support participants in producing high-quality theses, increasing publication success and timely graduation.
