Universiti Malaya (UM) has achieved an impressive 25th position out of 2,318 institutions worldwide in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025. This marks a continued upward trajectory from the 63rd position in 2024 and a placement in the 101–200 band in 2023.

Leading in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
UM’s performance reflects its strong commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with notable global rankings in several key areas:
- Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17) – Ranked 1st globally
- No Poverty (SDG 1) – Ranked 4th
- Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11) – Ranked 7th
- Life on Land (SDG 15) – Ranked 12th
