The Indonesian Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health (IAAHEH) continues its commitment to elevating health education standards by recently organising a follow-up International Assessor Refresher Training. Refresher Training and Ongoing Development

Building on previous successful training sessions, such as the International Assessor Training for Medical Education Programs held in August 2023 in collaboration with the General Medical Council Service International (GMC-SI), United Kingdom, IAAHEH conducted its latest International Assessor Refresher Training on 3rd and 4th May 2025 via Zoom. The training agenda included an introduction to international accreditation by IAAHEH, procedures, guidelines for nurturing international accreditation, and an overview of the SIMAK International (Accreditation Information System).

Prof. Dr. Zamri Bin Radzi, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs at Universiti Malaya and former Dean of the Dental Faculty at Universiti Malaya and Prof Victor Hoe, Professor of Occupational and Public Health and Head of the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, participated in the training. Dr Zamri joined the Dental team and Dr Victor joined the Public Health team during the group work. Their participation underscores the collaborative and multidisciplinary approach IAAHEH fosters in its quality assurance efforts.

The other participants in the Public Health team are Prof Dr Ariyanto Nugroho from Respati University of Yogyakarta, Prof Dr Asnawi Abdullah from Muhammadiyay University of Aceh, Prof Dr Dewi Susanna from Universitas Indonesia, Prof Dr Misnaniarti from Sriwijaya University, Prof Dr Mohammad Zen Rahfiludin form Diponegoro University, Prof Dr Ridwan M Thaha from Hasinuddin Universitas, Prof Dr Setya Haksama from Airlangga University, and Tris Eryando from Univeritas Indonesia.

The purpose of IAAHEH accreditation extends beyond merely assigning status; it aims to foster a culture of continuous quality improvement within health education institutions.

Introducing the Online Accreditation Portal

During the training, participants were trained on using the online accreditation portal. The online portal, known as SIMAk-Int (Sistem Informasi Manajemen Akreditasi Internasional) (https://accreditation.iaaheh.org), facilitates the submission of self-evaluation reports and manages the accreditation process.
