Congratulations to Dr. Hazwa Binti Harith on Successful Defense of Doctor of Public Health Dissertation

We are delighted to announce that Dr. Hazwa Binti Harith has successfully defended her Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) dissertation on September 11, 2024. Her research, titled “The Development and Implementation of EduMind for Monitoring Mental Health Status Among Youth,” marks a significant contribution to the field of public health, particularly in mental health promotion among young people.

The department would like to congratulate Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nik Daliana Nik Farid and Dr. ‘Abqariyah Yahya@Ahmad Noor, and Professor Dr. Nor Liyana Mohd Shuib from Information System, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universiti Malaya

The viva voce was chaired by Professor Dr. Tunku Kamarul Zaman Tunku Zainol Abidin. Both the internal and external were also present, Professor Dr. Siti Munira Yasin, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Teknologi MARA and Professor Dr. Rafdzah Ahmad Zaki. The other committee of examiners were Professor Dr. Shahrul Bahyah Kamaruzzaman, Deputy Dean (Post Graduate), Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya and Professor Dr. Victor CW Hoe, Head of Department, Department of Social and Preventive Medicine.

Dr. Hazwa’s research has already made waves in the scientific community. Her work on EduMind, a tool for monitoring mental health status among youth, has resulted in a published paper titled “The Effectiveness of EduMind for Mental Health Promotion Among Youths.” This publication demonstrates the practical implications and potential impact of her research on youth mental health.

The successful defense of Dr. Hazwa’s dissertation represents not only a personal achievement but also a valuable contribution to public health research.
