This workshop specifically aims to facilitate the clinical master students to improve their scientific writing and reporting skills. During the workshop, the basic skills in medical writing and the do’s and don’ts will be taught. This will be an interactive session where there will also be opportunities to walk through students’ write-ups and result in tables. Open discussions will be held with students, and hands-on writing skills will be imparted. Participants are encouraged to bring in their existing research write-up when attending the workshop. A template will be provided prior to the workshop to all registered participants.
Facilitator: Associate Prof Dr Nirmala Bhoo Pathy
Dr Nirmala is an Associate Professor in Epidemiology at the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya and a public health physician in University Malaya Medical Centre. Her career is focused on optimizing life after cancer through research and advocacy, particularly on the state of cancer control in the low- and middle-income countries, and enhancing treatment outcomes and patient-centred outcomes in these settings.
