The Kyoto University School of Public Health organised a short course on “Comparing COVID-19 Prevention Measures and Research in Asia” on the 5th Oct 2020.
The speakers for this short course were – Professor Dr Noran Naqiah Hairi from University of Malaya, Malaysia, Professor Chang-Chuan Chan, National Taiwan University, Taiwan and Professor Hiroshi Nishiura, Kyoto University, Japan. In total, more than 50 international participants mainly from Japan, Taiwan and Malaysia attended this event.

Prof Noran shared the current state of COVIC-19 outbreak in Malaysia and what Malaysia is doing with regard to communication, multi-sectoral partnerships and community engagement as well as innovations in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prof Chang presented the Taiwan Model of Covid-19 Control Measures and Prof Hiroshi discussed on Japan’s Covid-19 control via emergency operating centre – focusing on the Cluster buster’s approach.
