In an interview with the News Strait Times newspaper on the 15 May 2020, Professor Dr Sanjay Rampal said that people must learn to co-exist with the virus in a sustainable manner until a vaccine or definitive treatment is available. He further adds the people should continue to ensure physical distancing, good hygiene and environmental cleaning, this is especially relevant in places of worship like mosques.
