Congratulation to Muhamad Hazizi for the successful completion of his DrPH viva voce

The Department would like to congratulate Dr Muhamad Hazizi Muhamad Hasani for passing his DrPH viva voce. The title of his thesis is “Effectiveness of Active Ergonomic Training for Prevention of Work Related Upper Limb Musculoskeletal Disorders (WRULD)”. The research was a two-arm cluster randomised controlled trial with a 12-month follow-up on office workers from the University of Malaya. The thesis has demonstrated that active ergonomic training intervention could help in the reduction of specific upper limb pain/discomfort, improve disability on the activity of daily living and activity at work, and reduce self-perceived stress, anxiety and depression. However, it did not lead to a reduction in WRULD or sickness absenteeism or improvement in work productivity.

He is supervised by Prof Dr Victor Hoe and Dr Nasrin Aghamohammadi.
