The 2nd Joint International Conference: Health Opportunities and Challenges in Improving Competence of Global Competition was held at the Grand Surya Hotel Kediri, East Jawa, Indonesia on the 18th and 19th July 2018. It was jointly organised by eight institutions of health education based in East Jawa, Indonesia. The Conference was officiated by His Excellency Tatang Budi Utama Razak the Ambassador of Indonesia to Kuwait and also the Chief Secretary of the National Body for Placement and Protection of Indonesian Workers (Badan National Penempatan dan Perlindungan Kerja Indonesia).
There were four sessions on the first day. The first session was moderated by Arina Chusnatayaini from STIKes Surya Mitra Husada Kediri. Dr Emil Elestianto Dardak from Bupati Trenggalek presented the topic on “Mindset’s change and education policy in globalization era”. The second session consists of two presentations. The moderator was Didik Susetiyanto Atmojo from Akper Dharma Husada Kediri. The first topic was “Readiness of health practitioners in working aboard” presented by Dr Elia Roaslina Sunityo the Deputy of Foreign Cooperation and Promotion, the National Body for Placement and Protection of Indonesian Workers. The second topic was “Economic Partnership Agreement role’s in preparing health worker to Japan” by Hiromi Ogasawara from the Japan Asia Medical Nurse Association.
The third session was moderated by Erin Kurnia from STIKes RS Baptis Kediri. The speakers were Prof Yu-Huei Lin from the Nursing Faculty at Taiwan Medical University and Dr Ratna Hidayati from STIKes Karya Husada Kediri. They spoke on the topics “Development of Nursing Competency in Taiwan” and “The biggest problem in the maternity area and the breakthrough point”. The final session for the first day was moderated by Ike Johan from UNIPDU Jombang. Prof Victor Hoe from the University of Malaya topic was “Health Work competence for health worker in globalization era” and Prof Kamarul Imran Musa from Universiti Sains Malaysia spoke on “Modern Epidemiology in Public Practices: Roles and Challenges”.
The second day of the conference was filled with oral and poster presentations.
