Dr Rama Krishna Supramanian

Dr. Rama Krishna is a distinguished Public Health Medicine Specialist and Occupational Health Physician with over 12 years of experience in occupational health and medicine. He currently serves as the Head of Occupational Health Clinic at University Malaya Medical Centre and as a Medical Lecturer at the University of Malaya.

Dr. Rama’s career began with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), where he provided essential occupational health services across various sectors. He then pursued advanced studies, earning a Master of Public Health (MPH) and Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) from the University of Malaya.

His expertise is further enhanced by his Licentiate of Faculty of Occupational Medicine (LFOM) from the Royal College of Physicians Ireland (RCPI). Dr. Rama specialises in workplace risk assessment, medical surveillance, and the implementation of occupational disease prevention programs.

As a Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certified researcher, Dr. Krishna focuses on occupational health and medicine, with particular emphasis on workplace risk assessment, medical surveillance, hearing conservation, and noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) prevention. His recent publications include studies on occupational noise-induced hearing loss among palm oil mill workers and the effects of training programs on noise-induced hearing loss prevention.

Dr. Rama’s commitment to occupational health is evident in his involvement in various research projects, including the development of participatory ergonomic interventions for oil palm harvesting workers and the implementation of occupational safety and health interventions in schools.
