‘Abqariyah Yahya@Ahmad Noor

Dr. Abqariyah Yahya is a Senior Lecturer in Biostatistics and Medical Statistics at the University of Malaya’s Faculty of Medicine, with expertise in Public Health Epidemiology, Environmental Epidemiology, and Spatial Analysis. Holding a Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the Karolinska Institute, she also has MSc and BSc degrees from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

Since joining UM, Dr. Abqariyah has actively researched childhood obesity, cardiovascular health (using the NCVD-ACS registry), mental health, dengue, vitamin D deficiency in pregnancy, sarcopenia, and air pollution’s impact on health. She has published extensively in indexed international journals and secured national grants as Principal Investigator and Co-Researcher.

Dr. Abqariyah contributes to consultancy projects and supervises postgraduate students. She also provides academic service as an examiner and reviewer. She has taken on various administrative duties and served as Head of Unit. She is also actively involved as part of the Semakan Penerbitan team for postgraduate students. In 2024, she received the Certificate of Excellent Service from Universiti Malaya.
