Facilitator: Associate Professor Dr Rafdzah Ahmad Zaki
Dr Rafdzah is an Associate Professor in Epidemiology at the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, University of Malaya. She is currently the Head of Centre for Epidemiology and Evidence-based Practice, Faculty of Medicine, University Malaya. She received training in Evidence-based Practice at Oxford University, United Kingdom, and training in Implementation Science at Yale University, United States.
This introductory workshop will provide an insight into what implementation science is and briefly introduce a few frameworks commonly used in the field. By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
• Define implementation science.
• Decide and justify whether a health care intervention has sufficient evidence to be translated/disseminated into practice, policy, or public health.
• Identify strategies and activities for engaging key stakeholders in the translation/dissemination of your evidence.
• Define key steps involved in designing effective implementation strategies.
