The Department would like to congratulate the winners of the Faculty of Medicine UM3MT® 2024 competition. The winners are Dr Munazieraa Abd Aziz who won First place with her thesis titled “Anaemia Unmasked: Transforming the Health of Orang Asli Adolescents”, Dr Mohamad Zulkifrie Abas, second place with his thesis titled “Harnessing Machine Learning: Predicting Diabetes Complications in Malaysia”, and Dr Fairus Abdul Rani, third place.
The UMUM3MT® competition celebrates the exciting research conducted by doctorate level students. The 3MT was developed by the University of Queensland, UM3MT® cultivates students’ academic, presentation, and research communication skills. The UM3MT® competition provides a great platform for research students in exercising their communication and research skills through a three-minute presentation. The competition supports student’s capacity to effectively explain their research in a language that is comprehensible to a non-specialist audience.
It is an honour for the Department to have all the three winners coming from our Doctor of Public Health candidate. The Faculty of Medicine UM3MT® is the faculty level completion for the Universiti Malaya 3 Minute Thesis competition.
The three winners will proceed to the university level UM3MT which will be held on the 09 May 2024.
