We would like to share that the online course which we have been working on for the last 6-9 months, Occupational Health: Managing Hazard and Risk at Work is finally available on the FutureLearn platform. The course will be available as ExpertTrack on FutureLearn. This is the first ExpertTrack on FutureLearn from Universiti Malaya. ExpertTrack is different from the short courses that are offered on FutureLearn. It consists of a series of in-depth courses that help the learner to master new skills in a specialist area.
The Occupational Health: Managing Hazard and Risk at Work consists of two courses, Occupational Safety and Health Hazards, and Risk Assessment and Management. Each of the courses will take two weeks to complete. The first course will focus on occupational health and safety hazards in the workplace. It will cover how to identify different types of occupational health and safety hazards. The second course will explore the risk assessment process, discuss the mitigation of risk in the workplace, and understand the importance of OSH plans. This ExpertTrack is designed for primary care providers such as general practitioners, nurses, physicians, and more.
This is not the first time the Department has developed a massive open online course (MOOC). The first MOOC that the department developed was the Essential in Public Health course which was published on the OpenLearning platform back in 2015.
