In an interview with the New Strait Times newspaper, Professor Datuk Dr Awang Bulgiba Awang Mahmud also said that there was no choice but to extend the recovery movement control order (RMCO). The RMCO need to be extended until other countries in the region and around the world managed to keep the virus under control.
He continues that while “travel bubbles” with countries that had managed the pandemic well could be considered in the future.
He said vaccine development and effective real-time surveillance system for COVID-19 are areas that required the government’s dedicated action.
