In an interview with the Malaysian Insight, Prof Datuk Dr Awang Bulgiba Awang Mahmud said that Malaysia needs an outbreak-surveillance system that can warn the authorities early about Covid-19 transmissions in a community. He said that the lax compliance with the health and safety guidelines and imported infections has contributed to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases.
