Dr Abdul Kadir Shah Sahibudeen who graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya in 2019 is the first fresh medical graduate without any post-qualification working experience that has been accepted to join the Master of Public Health programme. His participation in voluntary activities, his show of leadership ability, and his award, the “TOKOH SISWA 2018 – ANUGERAH PEMIMPIN PROGRAM – WACANA INTELEK” from the Ministry of Education Malaysia was among the reasons that he was accepted to the MPH programme.
The “TOKOH SISWA 2018 – ANUGERAH PEMIMPIN PROGRAM – WACANA INTELEK” is an annual award given to undergraduates who are active and outstanding in various fields while still in university. Out of 277 candidates, he was one of the 14 awards winners. The award consists of RM1,000, a trophy and a scholarship to pursue post-graduate studies. His leadership and active participation in the MedXUM 2018 was among the reasons that he won the award. The MedXUM 2018 was a conference conducted by students for students. The theme for the conference was ‘High School, Med School, What’s Next?’. The conference focused on the future for medical graduates after medical school.
Abdul Kadir has been and still active in various activities, he holds multiple leadership positions at both university and national levels. He was the Global Ambassador, International Young Leaders Assembly (IYLA), United Nation. Besides that, he had also successfully directed many events/projects in both university and national levels.
The Department would like to congratulate him for his enrolment in the Master of Public Health program in session 2019/2020.
