MOODLE workshop

On 10 July 2009, the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine (SPM), in collaboration with the Academic Development Centre (ADeC), University of Malaya, successfully conducted a MOODLE Basics Workshop aimed at enhancing digital teaching competencies among academic and support staff.

The workshop focused on familiarising participants with Moodle, the university’s primary e-learning platform. It was designed to support academicians and programme assistants in effectively integrating online tools into teaching, learning, and course management.

A total of 30 participants attended the session, including SPM staff and academic representatives from other departments within the faculty. The training was held at the SPM computer laboratory and was facilitated by Abdul Halim Sulaiman, Deputy Director of ADeC and an experienced MOODLE practitioner.

The workshop provided hands-on exposure to key functionalities of the platform, enabling participants to better manage course content, student engagement, and assessment processes in an increasingly digital learning environment.
