Prof J.C. Stoof the Dean of the University Medical Center, Utrecht, the Netherlands along with Professor Diederick Grobbee, Professor Arnoe Hoes and Professor Graaf Yolanda from Julius Center, University Medical Centre, Utrecht paid a courtesy visit to the Faculty of Medicine, the University of Malaya on the 30 March 2007. The visitors were brief on the Faculty of Medicine, the University of Malaya and University Malaya Medical Centre’s activities in teaching, training and research by Professor Dr Hamimah Hassan the Deputy Dean for Undergraduate and Diploma Programme.

Those present also included Professor Patrick Tan, Deputy Dean for Postgraduate, Head of Departments and Units from Faculty of Medicine, representatives from University Indonesia and staff of the Dept of SPM.

Prof J.C. Stoof also presented on the profile of University Medical Center Utrecht, Professor Diederick Grobbee on Julius Center, and Professor Yolanda on the proposed European Union’s Asia-link Programme to those present.

The partners for the European Union’s Asia-link Programme are

University of Malaya.

During the visits, the Prof Stoof and Prof Hamimah also discussed on a students exchange programme between the two medical schools for the undergraduate medical students.
