The Centre of Epidemiology and Evidence-Based Practice, Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya is pleased to announce the R Workshop Series, a two-day, hands-on training designed to build practical data analysis skills. This workshop is free for the UM community, offering an excellent opportunity to strengthen competencies in data management, statistical analysis and reproducible research using R.
Workshop Overview
Across the two days, participants will be guided by Dr Ang Swee Hung and Professor Dr Sanjay Rampal, with sessions moderated by Dr Patrick Peng Wee Yao and Dr Yvonne Lim Mei Fong.

Day 1 – 20 November 2025 (Thursday)

- Introduction to R & project setup
- Basic syntax, packages & operators
- Importing, cleaning & transforming data
- Data visualisation
Day 2 – 21 November 2025 (Friday)
8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Inferential statistics
- Linear & logistic regression
- Guided practical exercises
