Dr Cynthia Maung is a Burmese medical doctor and founder of the Mae Tao Clinic that has been providing free healthcare services for internally displaces persons and migrants on the Thai-Burmese border for three decades. She will be discussing the situation on the Thailand-Burma border and how the lives of the people have been affected by the ongoing conflict and poverty. The talk will include the challenges faced by refugees and displaced population in Thailand and the Thailand-Burma border are. These continuous challenges include barriers to live a dignified life with respect to human rights with a future perspective for youth and adolescents.

Dr Cynthia Maung has received multiple international awards including the 2018 Roux Prize and UNDPs N-Peace Award
