On July 30, 2024, the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), Ministry of Human Resources, held a significant meeting at its headquarters in Putrajaya. The purpose of this meeting was to harmonise and finalise the draft “Guidelines on Psychosocial Risk Assessment and Management at the Workplace.” The session was chaired by Dr. Ahmad Fitri Abdullah Hair, the Director of the Occupational Health Division at DOSH and attended by members of the Project Consultants and Technical Committee.
The primary objective of the meeting was to review, discuss, and finalise the draft guidelines aimed at addressing psychosocial risks in workplaces across Malaysia. Psychosocial risks, which include factors such as work-related stress, harassment, and workplace violence, can significantly impact employees’ mental health and overall well-being. The guidelines are intended to provide a comprehensive framework for identifying, assessing, and managing these risks effectively.
