The Department would like to congratulate Dr Mahindran s/o Rajendran for successfully completing his Doctor of Philosophy Viva-Voce. He was supervised by Associate Professor Dr Nasrin Agha Mohammadi, and Associate Professor Dr Rafdzah Binti Ahmad Zaki. Dr Mahindran joined the Doctor of Philosophy programme in 2017 as a part-time candidate. The title of his thesis is “Factors Associated with Multidrug-Resistant Tuberculosis and Treatment Compliance Among Tuberculosis Patients in Malaysia.”
He had a very long journey due to the many hurdles that he had to face. Among them were the COVID-19 pandemic and Movement Control Order (MCO). The session was chaired by Professor Dr Tan Maw Pin, we are very thankful for her professionalism and guidance. We extend our appreciation to the external examiners: Professor Dr John Kaldor from UNSW, Australia; Professor Dr Ari Natalia Probandari from Sebelas Maret University, Indonesia; and Dr ‘Abqariyah Yahya for examining the thesis.
We are grateful to have Professor Dr Shahrul Bahyah Kamaruzzaman as the Faculty of Medicine Representative and member of the Senate University of Malaya Professor Dato’ Dr Zulkifli Yusoff in this session.
