When sport takes second place

During the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, everything else comes second. Dr Faiz Baharudin who is the head of the Malaya Titans, a National Community Basketball League club, the Armed Forces Basketball head coach, the medical and sports science adviser to the Malaysia Basketball Association (MABA), and the medical officer attached to the Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental Unit, University Malaya Medical Centre was featured in the Sports Section of the News Straight Times on the 8 April 2020.

Dr Faiz Baharudin who is our Master of Public Health alumnus and a Doctor of Public Health candidate is currently working in the COVID-19 Healthcare Workers Surveillance Centre. The centre consists of staff and students from the OSHE unit and Public Health Department and volunteers from the other departments in the University. The role of the Centre is to conduct risk assessments, contact tracing and surveillance of all healthcare workers who have been exposed to a COVID-19 patient.
