The Department has just completed the University of Malaya Medical Programme Curriculum (UMMP) Review workshop today. The workshop was held at the CUBE in Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya. The purpose of the workshop is to review and map the Public Health component of the UMMP. The UMMP was adopted from the University of Sydney’s medical programme and has been running for the last five years. The first batch of medical students from the programme will be graduating this October. The representatives from the five disciplines, i.e., Epidemiology, Health Policy Management, Biostatistics, Family Health and Occupational and Environmental Health, presented the current and proposed topics with the relevant learning outcome during the workshop. Members of the Medical Education Unit (MERDU) of the Faculty of Medicine, the University of Malaya were also present to answer our queries. The changes proposed will be presented to MERDU, Faculty of Medicine, the University of Malaya for discussion and approval.
