The Centre for Population Health (CePH) hosted another interesting talk by Prof Siaw-Teng Liaw on the 9th April 2014. The topic was on “Primary and integrated care – a view from two countries, Australia and Malaysia” and was attended by about fifteen people interested in the research area. Prof Liaw is a Professor of General Practice at the University of New South Wales and Director of the Academic General Practice Unit in Fairfield where he cares for patients and teaches registrars and other trainees in the health professions. His research in the area of primary and integrated care informatics (with a focus on cross-cultural health and disadvantaged populations) is nationally and internationally recognized. His concurrent research on clinical decision support and consumer health informatics through the NHMRC CRE in eHealth seeks to optimise the quality and use of routinely collected health information through the electronic practice-based research network.
