Workshop on Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using AMOS

When

22 Nov 2021 - 23 Nov 2021
09:00 - 17:00

Event Type

In SEM, the interrelated relationships among multiple dependent and independent constructs can be examined by researchers. SEM methods have been used in many disciplines and have become an important method for analysis in scientifically research. Structural equation modelling techniques were most appropriate for this research study involving multiple independent-dependent relationships that were hypothesized in the proposed research model. One of the most usable software for analysis SEM is called Analysis of Moment Structures (AMOS).

This workshop is an introduction to Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) using AMOS software. SEM is an extension of the general linear model (GLM) that enables a researcher to test a set of regression equations simultaneously. Structural equation modelling (SEM) is a statistical model that tries to clarify and explain relationships among multiple latent variables (constructs).

This course includes an introduction to the logic of SEM, the assumptions and required input for SEM analysis, and how to perform SEM analyses using AMOS, including building and testing a model using AMOS Graphics.

Dr Mahmoud Danaee is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Social Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya. His academic career began in Iran at the Islamic Azad University (Iran) in 1998. As a statistician, during the last 23 years, he has taught courses in statistics, experimental design, advanced statistical methods, and Research Methodology at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in different disciplines. Currently, he leads Research Methodology and Statistical Clinic at RMC at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya.

This workshop is organised by the Centre for Epidemiology and Evidence-Based Practice (CEBP) formerly known as Julius Centre University of Malaya (JCUM), Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya.
