SUMMARY:UOEH International Symposium 2024
DESCRIPTION:\nThe UOEH International Symposium 2024 will be held on Novembe
r 8-9\, 2024\, at the University of Occupational and Environmental Health
(UOEH) in Kitakyushu\, Japan. The symposium will address the theme\, "Arti
ficial Intelligence (AI) in Human Factors and Ergonomics: How Should We Ap
ply Disruptive Technologies to Occupational Health?" The event will featur
e poster discussion sessions and will be accessible both in-person and onl
ine.\n\n\n\nAI has emerged as a transformative technology across multiple
fields\, capable of analysing extensive physiological data obtained from w
orkers and patients through the Internet of Things (IoT). This capability
enhances the value of information\, contributing to health promotion and o
ptimal treatment practices. The focus on digital transformation (DX) under
scores the rationale for selecting this year's theme.\n\n\n\nThe symposium
will critically examine the dual impacts of AI on occupational health\, b
alancing its potential to enhance labour productivity with the introductio
n of new occupational health challenges. Human Factors and Ergonomics serv
e as crucial disciplines in mitigating these challenges by optimizing the
interactions between humans and system components\, thus fostering efficie
 nt\, healthy\, safe\, and fulfilling work environments.\n\n\n\nThe confere
nce will feature a comprehensive exchange of scientific views on the appli
cation of AI in digital health technologies\, robotic and autonomous syste
ms\, and human-robot collaboration. It will explore current and future res
earch directions in occupational health within the AI era and aim to stren
gthen networks among researchers and practitioners across industry\, acade
mia\, government\, and private sectors in Asia.\n\n\n\nParticipants are en
couraged to contribute to the poster sessions\, and the symposium aspires
to generate innovative and positive expectations for the future of occupat
ional health amidst rapid technological advancements.\n\n\n\nRegistration
Information\n\n\n\n\nThis symposium will be held both on-site and online.\
 n\n\n\nRegistration Fee: 10\,000 JPY (non-refundable).\n\n\n\nExemption fr
om Registration Fee for full time undergraduate and postgraduate students
 from selected countries.\n\n\n\n\n\nSymposium Website\n\n
