SUMMARY:Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on implementation research (IR)
DESCRIPTION:\nAfter the successful completion of a 6-week-long Massive Open
Online Course (MOOC) on Implementation Research (IR) in 2022\, we are ple
ased to invite you to join the  MOOC on IR-2023\, starting June 19 till J
uly 30\, 2023. As we are committed to expanding the reach of IR\, there i
s no cost associated with this course. \n\n\n\nIntroduction to the course
:\n\n\n\nIR is important for designing strategies or solutions to overcome
bottlenecks that prevent proven and innovative public health intervention
s from reaching the people who need them.&nbsp\;This ensures that these in
terventions are used in a manner that results in the outcome for which the
 y were intended.&nbsp\;\n\n\n\nThis 6-week&nbsp\;MOOC&nbsp\;is an in-depth
\, online training programme&nbsp\;taught by leading experts in the field&
 nbsp\;for public health students and researchers/academics\, policymakers\
, managers of disease control programmes\, and other health professionals.
\n\n\n\nThe&nbsp\;MOOC&nbsp\;focuses on core concepts and how to design an
d evaluate solid IR projects to improve control of infectious diseases of
poverty and produce better population health outcomes. The&nbsp\;MOOC&nbsp
\;is organised by the research team from the Universiti Malaya\, UNU-IIGH\
, and IHSCR known as the TDR Regional Training Centre for Implementation R
esearch in the Western Pacific Region (RTC-WPR).\n\n\n\n&nbsp\;Course obje
ctives:The objective of the course is to build the capacity to identify th
e challenges of various health settings\, assess the appropriateness of ex
isting strategies\, and develop new interventions and strategies by workin
 g with communities and stakeholders.\n\n\n\nLearning outcomes:\n\n\n\nExpe
rts guide participants through the core concepts of IR\, including modules
that address how to:\n\n\n\nIdentify the challenges of various health set
tings.\n\n\n\n\nAssess the appropriateness of existing disease control str
ategies.\n\n\n\nDevelop new interventions and strategies by working with c
ommunities and stakeholders.\n\n\n\nSpecify IR questions.\n\n\n\nDesign ri
gorous research projects. This includes identifying IR outcomes\, evaluati
ng effectiveness\, and planning to scale up implementation in real-life se
ttings.\n\n\n\n\nBy the end of the course\, it is anticipated that you wil
l be able to:\n\n\n\n\ndesign your own implementation research projects\;\
n\n\n\ncritically evaluate and use the evidence produced by other implemen
tation research projects\;\n\n\n\ncommission robustly designed implementat
ion research projects\,\n\n\n\n\nwith the ultimate goal of enhancing the e
vidence base of practical ways to improve the health of the populations we
serve.\n\n\n\nHow to register:Please register by 15th June 2023 to confir
m your place. To register\, please click on the link:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA con
