DESCRIPTION:\nThe Centre for Population Health (CePH) Lunch Talk provides a
  platform for researchers\, students\, and healthcare professionals to lea
 rn from distinguished experts on current issues in public health and healt
 hcare. \n\n\n\nThis session\, "Markets for Human Resources for Health: At 
 a Time of Epidemiological and Demographic Transition\," will explore conte
 mporary perspectives on health workforce challenges and discuss how demogr
 aphic and epidemiological changes are influencing healthcare systems. Part
 icipants will have the opportunity to gain valuable insights from an inter
 nationally renowned expert and engage in meaningful discussions on issues 
 relevant to health policy\, research\, and practice.\n\n\n\nSpeaker\n\n\n\
 n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProfessor Ajay Mahal is a Professor of Health Economics a
 t the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health\, The University of
  Melbourne\, and an internationally recognised expert in health economics\
 , health systems\, and health financing. \n\n\n\nHis research focuses on h
 ealth workforce\, ageing\, non-communicable diseases\, healthcare financin
 g\, and economic evaluation\, with extensive experience working across Asi
 a\, Africa\, and other low- and middle-income countries. \n\n\n\nThrough t
 his talk\, participants will have the opportunity to learn from his extens
 ive expertise and gain insights into the economic and policy challenges su
 rrounding human resources for health in an era of epidemiological and demo
 graphic transition.\n\n\n\n\n\nModerator\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDr Nithiah
  Thangiah is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Social and Preventive 
 Medicine\, Faculty of Medicine\, University of Malaya (UM). She holds a Ph
 D in Public Health (Adolescent Health) and a Master's in Applied Statistic
 s from UM\, and a BSc in Financial Maths from Universiti Malaysia Terengga
 nu.\n\n\n\nSince joining UM\, Dr Nithiah has focused on population health 
 research at the Centre for Population Health (CePH)\, specialising in surv
 ey design\, data management\, and analysis using SPSS\, Stata\, and JASP. 
 Her research primarily explores adolescent health and CVD risk factors in 
 Malaysia\, using cluster analysis to identify key trends.\n\n\n\nDr Nithia
 h has published and co-authored numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals.
  She has also served in various administrative roles\, including Programme
  Coordinator and E-Document Manager. She contributes to the academic commu
 nity as a reviewer for journals and as an internal examiner for postgradua
 te students. Dr Nithiah received the Excellence Service Award from Univers
