 partment of Social and Preventive Medicine\, Faculty of Medicine\, Univers
 iti Malaya\n\n\n\nDr Rumana Saifi is a Senior Lecturer at the Department o
 f Social and Preventive Medicine\, Faculty of Medicine\, University of Mal
 aya (UM)\, joining in July 2024. She holds a PhD in Demography from Mahido
 l University\, Thailand\, and an MPH from the University of Auckland\, alo
 ng with degrees in Economics.\n\n\n\nSince joining UM\, Dr Rumana has beco
 me a member of the Centre for Population Research. Her research focuses on
  public health\, with a strong emphasis on HIV prevention and related area
 s. She is a PI of research projects\, including those related to HIV care 
 for transgender women and the Malaysian Implementation Science Training (M
 IST) Program in HIV. Her research is supported by international funding.\n
 \n\n\nDr Rumana actively participates in the academic community as a cours
 e coordinator and committee member. She serves as an advisor to PhD and MP
 H students. Dr Rumana also acts as a consultant for WHO and the Malaysian 
 AIDS Council. She was the recipient of the Excellence Bangladeshi Academic
 ian Award in 2024.\n\n\n\n\n\nThis session will explore the ethical princi
 ples and practical challenges that arise throughout implementation researc
 h\, including informed consent\, community engagement\, equity\, data priv
 acy and confidentiality\, and ethical review processes.\n\n\n\n📅 Thursd
