SUMMARY:Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using AMOS
DESCRIPTION:\n\nINTRODUCTION\nIn SEM\, the interrelated relationships among
multiple dependent and independent constructs can be examined by research
ers. SEM methods have been used in many disciplines and have become an imp
ortant method for analysis in scientifically research. Structural equation
modelling techniques were most appropriate for this research study involv
ing multiple independent-dependent relationships that were hypothesized in
the proposed research model. One of the most usable software for analysis
SEM is called Analysis of Moment Structures (AMOS).\n\nThis workshop is a
n introduction to Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) using AMOS software.
SEM is an extension of the general linear model (GLM) that enables a rese
archer to test a set of regression equations simultaneously. Structural eq
uation modelling (SEM) is a statistical model that tries to clarify and ex
plain relationships among multiple latent variables (constructs). It inclu
des an introduction to the logic of SEM\, the assumptions and required inp
ut for SEM analysis\, and how to perform SEM analyses using AMOS\, includi
ng building and testing a model using AMOS Graphics.\n\nDr Mahmoud Danaee
is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Social Preventive Medi
cine\, Faculty of Medicine\, University of Malaya. His academic career beg
an in Iran at the Islamic Azad University (Iran) in 1998. As a statisticia
n\, during the last 23 years\, he has taught courses in statistics\, exper
imental design\, advanced statistical methods\, and Research Methodology a
t undergraduate and postgraduate levels in different disciplines. Currentl
y\, he leads Research Methodology and Statistical Clinic at RMC at the Fac
ulty of Medicine\, University of Malaya.\n\nThis 2-day workshop is organis
ed by the Centre for Epidemiology and Evidence-Based Practice (CEBP) forme
rly known as Julius Centre University of Malaya (JCUM)\, Department of Soc
ial and Preventive Medicine\, Faculty of Medicine\, University of Malaya.\
