Dalam satu temubual dengan Berita Harian, Professor Datuk Dr Awang Bulgiba Awang Mahmud berpendapat mewajibkan individu yang kembali ke Malaysia dari luar negara, terus dibawa ke pusat kuarantin untuk diasingkan selama 14 hari, berbanding kuarantin di rumah. Ini adalah wajar kerana beliau tidak yakin tahap pematuhan prosedur operasi standard (SOP) kuarantin di rumah and juga pemahaman orang yang menjalani kuarantin itu.
