Screen Time during COVID19

With the start of the movement control order, children are stuck in the house. They cannot go to school or even go out of the house to play. Having so much time, many of them have increased their time behind their phones, tablets, computers and television. Further, classes have also gone online, all schools started to use the Google Classroom to teach.

Will the increase in screen time usage amoung our children affect their health and how should parents manage this issue at home. Dr Catherine Thamarai A a Doctor of Public Health student from the Department shared her view on the topic and provided some useful advice for parents in her article that was published in the News Straits Times newspaper.

Here is her most important advice, “… let’s create beautiful memories of this stay-at-home phase for our little ones with mindful usage of screen-based media.”
