The World Health Organization predicted that by 2050, Malaysia will experience an era of ageing population. In order to control future disease burden, health professionals in public health domain agreed that effort must be made to target the population early, possibly through robust adolescents’ research. On the 2nd of August 2018, we have been very fortunate to have the opportunity to share some of our adolescents’ research findings. Associate Professor Dr Hazreen bin Abdul Majid, Principal Investigator of our Malaysian Health and Adolescents Longitudinal Research Study (MyHeARTs) was invited to deliver the talk entitled “Malaysian Adolescent Cohort – What Evidence We have and Food for Thought” at the Educational Planning and Research Division (BPPDP), Ministry of Education, Putrajaya. The 2-hour session was attended by several officers from the BPPDP; and received positive feedback from the attendees. We hope that more future collaborations on adolescents’ research will take place between our department and other stakeholders.
