The Malaysian Association of Clinical Biochemists (MACB) organised the pre-conference workshop on “Chemical Health Risk Assessment for Laboratories Workers” at the Premeira Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on the 8 July 2018. The one day workshop focused on introducing the clinical biochemist and medical laboratory technologist to the conduct and understanding of Chemical Health Risk Assessment. The speaker for the workshop consists of Ms Chen Bee Chin from Hospital Kuala Lumpur and Prof Dr Victor Hoe from the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya. Ms Chen presented the topics Outline of Regulations on Chemical Exposure, Chemical Hazards and CHRA Assessment in IEM Laboratory. Whilst, Prof Hoe, presented on How to conduct CHRA based on the 3rd Edition of the Guidelines to conduct CHRA – A manual of recommended practice on assessment of the health risks arising from the use of chemicals hazardous to health at the workplace 2017.
